Dear Participants of the Global Judicial Integrity Network,
On the occasion of the third International Day of Women Judges, UNODC will hold a special high-level event “International Day of Women Judges 2024: Inclusive Justice = Resilient Justice”. The event will take place on Monday, 11 March 2024, 2.00-3.30 pm CET (Vienna time).

The event is part of the UNODC Women in Justice/Women for Justice initiative, which advocates for women’s representation and leadership in the justice sector with the aim of promoting fair, effective and efficient criminal justice systems for all.
This hybrid panel discussion will feature experts from different regions and focus on advancing efforts to support and inspire the next generation of women in justice through education and mentoring in law school and the workplace, engagement with the private sector and civil society, and other measures.

- Hon. Mr. Peter Jamadar, Judge of the Caribbean Court of Justice and Chairman of the Caribbean Association of Judicial Officers
- Hon. Ms. Vanessa Ruiz, Senior Judge of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, USA, Member of the Advisory Board of UNODC’s Global Judicial Integrity Network

The event will also feature a launch of the pilot Empowering Women in Justice / For Justice: A Mentorship Programme for women professionals in anti-corruption law enforcement and the judiciary. The programme will leverage the networking capabilities of UNODC’s existing anti-corruption networks, namely the Global Judicial Integrity Network and the Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities (GlobE) Network, seeking to foster professional growth and leadership potential of women practitioners.
