"In the context of the 20th anniversary of Hungary's integration into the European Union, the French Embassy in Hungary, the French Institute of Budapest and the Centre for Social Sciences (HUN-REN) are pleased to invite you to a conference devoted to the protection of fundamental rights in the European Union on Tuesday 4 June 2024 at 9.00 am at the Centre for Social Sciences in Budapest (H-1097 Budapest, Tóth Kálmán street 4.).
Bringing together eminent practitioners, academics and specialists in European law from France and Hungary, this conference will trace the evolution of the Charter of Fundamental Rights from its conception to the present day. It will then analyse the development of the case law of the Court of Justice of the EU in the area of fundamental rights, and examine the concept of constitutional identity in the light of the Charter.
The discussion will be held in French and English, with simultaneous translation into both languages.
